We created S'moresUp as a platform to help modern-day parents tackle their parenting challenges. One of the challenges that we heard from almost all the parents that we spoke to was the constant reminding that the parents have to do to get things done out of their kids. Almost 90% of kids need frequent reminders in completing day-to-day tasks.
We found that Chores and Rewards are a way to get kids to form healthy habits. Chores also help with character building for kids.
Few parents have a chore/allowance system that helps kids track day-to-day activities. We see that these systems fail when the rewards are not well defined. To have a successful chore management system, start with the reward.
Go ahead, talk to your kids, find out what they would like to get as a reward. Once you understand what they like, add that to the system. If they are big-ticket items, add them to Goals. This will teach them to save towards goals.
While you are there, check out some "above and beyond" goals from our Discover Chores section. Get creative.
Let us know what you think. If there is a specific way you use S'moresUp, leave a comment at the end of this article.
